-120 lbs..7 years and countingAt 17, my scale tipped at over 250 lbs....not exactly how I wanted to look going off to college. Two years later, tired of being embarrassed by my appearance, I made a commitment to slim down. I put myself on a 1,600 calorie diet and began walking (which turned into running). I took off over 120 pounds with diet and exercise, and I've been able to maintain that weight loss for 7 years! It's all about a lifestyle change...I'll never go back! Uploaded by on 05/20/07 |
that is great! I too am trying to loose weight by running. can you please tell me if running also helped you tone your abs or you did any special ab exercises?

I am curious to know what book that you are holding in your "before" picture?

Wow...thanks for all the comments!!!! To answer your questions, the running was great cardio, but did nothing to tighten my abs. :( I had to do a lot of crunches and ab work. Also, what am I holding in my "before" picture? That is an award for the highest yearly average in Biology in high school. I was 17 in that photo. :)
Thanks again for your support and comments!!! You can do it, too!

You look like a whole new person! Your story sounds a lot like mine. I started at 260, and have lost 42lbs so far, down to 218. My goal is 150 and I think I'm going to do this time around! Your story is definitely inspirational!

Ive lost 50 pounds since Janurary and want to lose 45 more.
Ive always done yo-yo diets myself, and Ive lost all 50 pounds through my own diet change, and work out's.

That's amazing! You look fantastic! I've lost about 30 pounds so far, from 256, but I'm completely stuck in a rut. How in the world did you do it??

I want to tell you that you look fantastic, I am embarking on the same challenge that you have successfully journeyed. You look fab, so far I have only lost 18 lbs. but I am staying positive. It is difficult but I am determined.Knowing that someone else has done it & kept it off, makes me both emotional and proud. One day soon I hope to be where you are. Keep up the good work. Thank you for sharing your phenomenal story.
