The Lazy OrganizerBefore: 235 size 18, I just had my two year old. After: 185 size 12, I am 30 pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight today! I lost weight very slowly, without dieting, by following a book called Intuitive Eating but I don't think I could have done it without the support of the Anti-Diet board here at I-Village. The ladies there are amazing! What's better than losing the weight is that I learned to stop obsessing over food and the scale and I learned to like myself, fat or otherwise. I'm finally free from the damage that diets have done to me all these years! You can read more about my journey at laragallagher.com/blog Uploaded by on 05/07/07 |
Wow! Your results are really impressive after not doing any dieting. My question for you is how tall are you? Your stats remind me of my situation. I'm a size 12 at 188. No one believes that's my weight. My goal is to weigh 165, but I'm off the so-called charts at that weight, but I'll look 'skinny', and will probably be a size 10. Does this sound like you too? Also, I'm tight/muscular-not much flab, and find that I lose weight very slowly.

hey J. don't focus on losing weight. weight isn't womens' issue. its fat. when we say "i want to lose weight" what we are really saying is "i want to lose fat/inches". i'm in the same boat as you, i'm 160 and fit into a size 10. i have more fat to lose and more muscle to build. i've stopped stressing over my stupid scale. what i DO use my scale as is to monitor my weight when my clothes feel tight and i know i've had an abnormal eating week b/c of events like birthdays.
i also count calories, its the easiest way to eat that HUGE slice of fatty cake you want but still maintain your weight.

J, I am 6'1". I look very thin at 165 too. In fact that is the absolute lowest I have ever been without looking anorexic. I got below that once after surgery and it was not pretty.

I am only 5'1" and weigh 166.5 lbs. I was weighing 188 and lost the 21.5 lbs. It took a long time, but I don't "diet" on a regular basis. I eat a lot sometimes and other times, not so much. I had an "improvement" done and felt so good, I lot 18 lbs in the following few months. The "shock" of just how much I weighed at first was my 1st motivation. My boyfriend of 12 years has been cheating on me and we have split up, now next time he sees me he will be floored at the 25 lbs I plan to lose, and I plan close the small gap in my front teeth and whiten them. Looking great is the best revenge.
