Baking has always been a special childhood memory to me, so I think thats why I have become the baker I am today. Nothing makes me happier than spending time in the kitchen creating something spectacular. I dont have a particular favorite recipe as I am always eager to create something new or experiment by changing an old recipe. My friends and family simply cannot wait to taste what I come up with next. So heres my latest creation, the chocolate peanut butter dream bar. I brought them to a recent get-together with my friends and no one could stop eating them. Theyre incredible. In fact, I really want to go make a fresh batch right now!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Dream Bars
Brownie base
1 cup canola oil
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
 cup cocoa
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
 teaspoon salt
Topping:
1 cup finely chopped peanuts (optional)
1 ( 7 oz) jar marshmallow crme
1 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter, separated
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine oil, sugars and eggs mix well. Add vanilla. Next, add in the dry ingredients, stirring gradually. Spread dough onto a greased 15x10x1 jellyroll pan and bake for 18 20 minutes (be careful not to overbake, these are meant to be moist bars).
In a bowl, mix together marshmallow crme and 1 cup peanut butter (microwaving the peanut butter to soften it up makes it easier to mix). Spread this mixture over the top of the brownie base. Sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired. Microwave chocolate chips in 30 second increments until completely melted, stirring as you go. Add in remaining cup peanut butter and blend well. Spread over bars. Once chocolate topping is firm, enjoy! |
