Chocolate Pudding Cookies

These cookies were handed down to us by a friend of the family. We have been making them for years (adding a few updates) and they are the absolute favorites of all family and friends (and anyone who has ever tried them!!)

1 1/4 c. butter or margarine, softened 2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
2 c. sugar 3/4 c. Hershey's cocoa
2 eggs 1 t. baking soda
2 t. vanilla 1/2 t.salt
1/8 c. water 1 small box instant chocolate pudding
2 c. chips

Cream butter or margarine & sugar until light & fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla, & water beat well. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt, & instant pudding blend into creamed mixture. Stir in chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 9 minutes. Cool slightly remove frome cookie sheet. **Do not overbake--cookies will be soft!
