Heart Heaven

Heart Heaven

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Hi, my name is Kathy Anderson. Four years ago I had open heart surgery and I thank God I’m still here today. My diet consists of these foods almost daily: oatmeal, nuts, dark chocolate and cranberries. NO!! I’m not going to try and sell you on a health cookie, but I do know these foods are good for the heart. I cannot compare any other cookie to a Mrs. Fields cookie. I’ve been hooked on the rich flavor for years. My recipe is a hearty cookie and that’s why I call it Heart Heaven. It is heart filled and a little bit of heaven. For the past 30 years the American Heart Association has encouraged us to include these foods in our diet, so why not a Mrs. Fields cookie that is still rich and delicious, but contains some heart healthy ingredients.

¾ cup of dried cranberries
1 ½ cups of chopped walnuts
1 cup of oatmeal
12 oz. of semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup of light brown sugar
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs
1cup softened butter
1cup flour
1 ½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoon vanilla

Cream together butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla. Mix together dry ingredients and add to creamed ingredients. Shape into hearts or drop by large spoonfuls and place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 for 10 to 12 minutes. Enjoy a cookie with a glass of red wine ( Ha, Ha).

Note: My husband, 3 children and I have lived in our home for 30 years. We have never done any remodeling to our kitchen so if this cookie could get us our dream kitchen we would be grateful from the bottom of our hearts.
Thank you,
Kathy Anderson
