Marachino Marvel Bars
4 c flour
1 c sugar
4 sticks butter or margarine softened
1 c marachino cherries drained, chopped and patted with paper towel
1 c mini chocolate chips
Combine flour, sugar and butter in mixing bowl. Knead with hands until ingredients are well blended. Add marachino cherries and chocolate chips and continue mixing with hands until ingredients are sticking together. Press into a 9x13 pan and place in a 325* oven. Bake 45 minutes until slightly browned. Remove from oven and cut into bars immediatly. Let cool completely before removing bars from pan.
I created this recipe because I needed something quick when I had some surprise guests stop by. Its fast and simple and delicious. Everyone loved them, now I make them all the time and hear LOTS of compliments from family, friend and neighbors.
