My recipe for the Merrilees is an original recipe inspired by a cookie I enjoyed during Christmastime that I didn’t have the recipe for so I made my own recipe for them with ingredients that I thought were in the cookies. My recipe was actually much better in texture and taste. They have a soft creamy texture but also are chunky with a pleasant cranberry white chocolate taste. It is a different kind of cookie that I and many others think are fantastic. The name of my cookie recipe is Merrilees which came to mind as an original name that best described the recipe which originated during holiday time. I make lots of them for family and friends as they love them and I am always asked for the recipe. I bake cookies on a regular basis for everyone, but these cookies are everyone’s favorite and I get asked to make them often. They are simple to make and you can vary the ingredients with different flavors of craisins. I enjoy seeing people enjoy my cookies and making cookies is what I do best. I’m known for it and get asked frequently to bake them. When my husband saw the contest being advertised, he said “you have to enter”, “your cookies are the best”, which I thought a great compliment. This recipe is unique and is a festive twist for something different that I hope will be a prize winner. To be considered in the same rank as Mrs. Fields would truly be an honor and my recipe to be enjoyed by the world would be one of my greatest recognized accomplishments. And…I desperately need new appliances. So, please try my recipe and I know you will enjoy these wonderful cookies.
