Celebrating 16 years survival

Celebrating 16 years survival

I was diagnosed with breast cancer on my 34th birthday. I will be celebrating my 50th birthday and 16 years post breast cancer on September 27. I'm very happy to be alive! Cancer was a HUGE dark time in my life as well as being in a clinical trial for chemo (the outcome of my trial is still the standard protocol today for Adriamyacin and Cytoxin). I've had numerous reconstruction surgeries. I finally had a TRAM flap 5 years ago and couldn't be happier!

I just wanted to say congratulations on your 16th anniversary. It's funny that I decided to check out the gallery today, isn't it? You should come join us on the Breast Cancer Survivor's Message Board. It is great to have insight from those that are long-time survivors. It gives us all hope. I was diagnosed at 33 years old and 13 days after the birth of my son. I can't wait to have my 16th survivor anniversary. I hope you celebrate today!
